Belhaven Scottish ale

So I am officially hooked on great craft beer. The beer that I about to embark on is Belhaven's Scottish ale. When I poured it it is a nice amber color, there was a about a finger width head on it, but that has since disappeared in about the last minute. The aroma is a strong malt smell. It seems pretty lite mouth feel. Definitely malty on the taste bill. But a bit bitter on the way down. This beer only reigns in at 5.2 ABV so it could be a beer for a nice hot summer afternoon.

Beer

So this is nothing to fancy, I just want to start keep track of the beers that I have had, and write down notes about them. After all since I love beer, and want to start making beer for other people, I should know beer.
The first beer that I am going to comment on is Stone's IPA. This beer pours a cloudy oranginsh. The hop aroma that hits you right after you pour it is great. Very floral, and lots of citrus, what you would expect from a dry hopped brew. The head on it was about 1 finger or so. Left lacing on the glass as I drank it. Drinking it, man this is a tasty one. There is a greapfruit, citrus flavor to it. I don't think that it is to bitter but that's how I like my IPA. The taste does seem to linger in my mouth for a bit, but its a nice hop taste, you know, that hop bitter? The mouth feel is nice as well, it's there but not overwhelming.
So, this is my first entry, hopefully they will get better as I go along. Cheers and happy beer drinking.

Life

Life. How is it that everybody has a different view of life? Some people think that their life is horrible? Yet they have such a privileged life. take for instance these people on TV that are on reality shows. They have millions of dollars, and do nothing but nothing, and still seem to be able to feel like there life sucks. Now contrast this to a person who has barely enough money to feed himself, they couldn't be happier.
I know this is very cliche but life is what you make of it. I know I don't always live up to that motto, but I wish I would take that outlook.
So what can people do to make life better. I think the first step is to realize what you do have and how lucky you are to even have that. Such as here in Montana, We have some of the most amazing geological features in the world, take for instance Glacier or Yellowstone national parks. Even though we are fortunate enough to have these things and other nice things like clean air, lots of fresh water, low crime, etc. we still seem to get upset by the small things. I am very guilty of this. I get upset that I have to sit at a red light for more then 2 seconds. If I was in a large city, that would make me happy that I was sitting at a red light and not sitting in traffic. Not to even mention that I have a car that runs and is reliable. So back to the original question. If people were to step back every once in a while and take a look how good life really is, I think people could maybe be just a bit happier.

Expressive Typography

I choose James Bond because he is just awesome. I was dinking around on the file for a while in Photoshop but am not the best with that program and could not get it to do what I wanted so I just left it plain like this. I did how ever download a font that is actually called 007goldenEye which I was pretty proud of myself for that. And check it out, I actually used HTML to edit my blog....HMMM maybe I learning something cool in school.

The reason I made this one so plain is that When Tom Hanks says "Houston, we have a problem" he is very blah about it. There is no expression in his voice.

This is one of my all time favorite movie quotes. The doc has such excitement in his voice when he says "1.21 gigawatts" the first time and also when he says "great scott".

So I am really new at Expressive Typography. I did give it a shot, these are not the best in the world but is a starting point.

Math sucks!

I just don't understand why math classes have to be so hard? I mean, I study all day long for several weeks for the stupid subject, and when it comes to test day, totally just bomb the test. There are several things that are upsetting about this. 1. In real life, I will not have to memorize tons of different stupid things, the answers to those things will be on a chart or on a computer or you can do it on a calculator. 2. On the exam they don't ask you strait forward questions, they give you a question in a bassackwards way. Now I am already stressed because I am taking a Calc exam, don't add more stress by trying to trick me. Back to the calculator. Why not allow them on an exam. In real life I will have to use it so why not get used to using it for these types of problems?
Well this is it for my first blog!

Why oh why?

Why do I think I need a blog? Well I think I need a blog because that is my assignment for this class and in order to get a good grade, I should probably do what the man tells me to do.
But for reals now! I think blogging is a great way for people to express themselves. I hope to use this blog as an avenue to express my current thoughts.
